ARTnews Chinese Edition, in collaboration with Leo Gallery and the German high-end womenswear brand Laurèl, will present the exhibition Order Energy on August 24, 2025, at Fosun Foundation Shanghai. At the exhibition site, an invisible "suit" serves as the anchor, connecting the creative thinking of four artists-Xiao Bo, Li Di, Barbara Edelstein, and Zhang Ning-to jointly unfold a dialogue on structure and freedom. Through this metaphor, the exhibition delves into the enduring proposition between order and freedom.

Jointly curated by ARTnews China and Leo Gallery, Order and Energy features artists Xiao Bo, Li Di, Barbara Edelstein, and Zhang Ning. The exhibition adopts the suit as a structural metaphor, juxtaposing its architectural proportions and lines with the freedom and flow of art. Here, the Bauhaus spirit of Gesamtkunstwerk is reinterpreted: form and function in unity, reason and sensibility in balance.
Structured in four chapters-The Art of Order, The Art of Structure, The Art of Growth, and The Art of Energy-the exhibition invites viewers to encounter the dialogue between the rational logic of tailoring and the sensibility of contemporary art. These two forces confront, mirror, and generate one another.
It is not only a convergence of art and fashion, but also an aesthetic inquiry: how modern women remain clear within order and free within energy. Laurèl presents this as a portrait of contemporary femininity-where reason and sensibility coexist, clarity and freedom converge.
