Born in Shandong Province, China in 1983 and graduated from the Sculpture Department of Shanghai Normal University in 2005, Zhang Ning is a promising young talent who presents two bodies of work: one that reflects on the stress and pressures on young adults in China and another expresses the carefree and joy of early childhood spent in the countryside.
His work often shows a strong feeling of nostalgia and loneliness in contrast of today’s increasingly fast-paced lifestyle.
