Leo Gallery's artists Zhang Jianjun and Barbara Edstein are participating in 2026 Chengdu Biennale

Chengdu Biennale: Pulse of Life is currently on view at the Chengdu Art Museum. The Biennale takes "Pulse of Life" as its theme. In Chinese, the theme is expressed through the concept of "Fireworks" - the most vivid symbol of daily life, the recurring rhythm of days that carries collective memory and warmth - and "Index" - an expression of rational data, a measure of change. Chengdu Biennale: Pulse of Life brings these two seemingly independent ideas together, aiming to present everyday life from an artistic perspective and to interpret the vitality and sense of happiness of a city. Leo Gallery artists Zhang Jian-Jun and Barbara Edelstein are participating in the "Timesacpe Journey" section. The exhibition is on view till August 23, 2026.

"Timesacpe Journey" section is curated by Xu Jie: At the intersection of historical reflection, technological innovation, and cultural migration, contemporary art reveals new logics of creation. It transcends geographical and temporal boundaries, allowing the ancient and the modern, the virtual and the real, the local and the global to coexist within the same context. "Realm of Migration" signifies the flow of space and culture - a shift in thinking. Ultimately, it points toward an open view of art: in flux and mutual growth, art redefines the relationship between humanity and the world.
