Leo Gallery artist Armin Boehm launched his special edition magazine Starkbildmalerei - Armin Boehm during Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026. The magazine revolves around Armin Boehm's concepts of "Berliner Ikonografie" and "Starkbildmalerei" (Strong-Image Painting / Powerful Painting), exploring the tensions in his work between conflict and vulnerability, public discourse and pop culture, mass media and painterlines.
The magazine features texts by numerous important authors, curators, philosophers, and artists, including Wolfgang Ullrich, Ingrid Pfeiffer, Bazon Brock and Markus Lüpertz, offering an in-depth analysis of Armin Boehm's recent painting practice. It also includes personal recollections and commentary from diverse perspectives, spanning cultural theory, club culture, collecting, and galleries.
In addition, the magazine presents Boehm's latest digital collages and includes a complete catalogue of works. Visually, the publication continues Boehm's signature aesthetic-grotesque, intensely colorful, and defined by layered imagery.
On the afternoon of May 1, 2026, the magazine launch and artist talk - Armin Boehm in conversation with Ingrid Pfeiffer - was successfully held at KÖNIG GALERIE.
