Armin Boehm (b. 1972, Aachen, Germany) from 1995 to 1996, he studied at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Münster, and from 1995 to 2001 at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Konrad Klapheck and Jörg Immendorf, later becoming Immendorf’s master student. He currently lives and works in Berlin.
Armin Boehm's work captures scenes with remarkable complexity and depth, presenting an authentic reflection of modern society through both its internal narratives and external compositions. By integrating multi-layered collage and rich patterns, the artist swiftly draws viewers into a fantastical urban universe populated by cyborgs, politicians, and flowers. Through a mesmerizing use of color, Boehm visualizes tangible psychological relationships, embedding his subjects in a dazzling world filled with metaphor, symbolism, and abundant cultural references. In his works on canvas, he employs collage techniques to combine fragments of paint, fabric, paper, or metal, causing the subject matter to crystallize and emerge with a sculptural physicality.
His recent selected solo exhibitions include: The Sonder Montage, Leo Gallery, Shanghai, China(2025); Feast, Restrained Joyfulness, Tang Contemporary Art, Singapore (2025); Lust, Angst, Schmerz, Ekstase, König Galerie, Berlin, Germany (2024); Et les yeux pour me dire, Francesca Minini, Milan, Italy (2024); Die hellen Tage, Hans Alf Gallery, Copenhagen, Denmark (2023); Armin Boehm Solo Exhibition, Leo Gallery, Hongkong, China (2023). Armin Boehm's works are included in the collections of several public institutions and important private collectors both in China and abroad, such as the Folkwang Museum in Essen, KAI 10 Raum für Kunst in Düsseldorf, and the Städel Museum in Frankfurt.
