On May 17, 2025, Leo Gallery's Artist Residency Space in Zhujiajiao hosted an Open Studio Day featuring artists Wu Jiannan and Giulio Frigo (Italy).
During this residency, Giulio Frigo advanced his research into topological painting, a line of inquiry where the concepts of dimension and pictorial space are central. In his new work Butterfly Dreamers, he developed a 3D-printed rheotomic surface that extends the painted surface in a continuous, vortex-like motion across three layers, pushing the boundaries of spatial perception and material form.
Wu Jiannan began experimenting with mediums such as lighting and photography, exploring a more interdisciplinary approach while continuing to develop his figurative narrative language.
