Hong Kong artist Koon Wai-bong employs ink in his work to inherit the concept of 'recreating the classics'. His 'recreation' deviates from the parochial view which emphasizes on pedantic knowledge and the techniques used in old masterpieces. It is a transformation towards a new and contemporary aesthetics. He has developed an oeuvre of polyptychs of paintings.
